About The Position

The Career Technical Education Specialist at Goodwill of Silicon Valley is responsible for supporting clients in the Career Technical Education (CTE) program, which aims to provide pathways to long-term employment through no-cost, short-term skills training in various trade-specific fields. This role involves guiding participants through the enrollment process, monitoring their progress, and facilitating workshops to enhance their job readiness and success in securing employment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or two years equivalent experience.
  • Two years experience working with individuals facing challenges to employment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is desired.
  • Excellent driving record and CDL.

  • Strong computer literacy and writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support CTE course enrollment process with a client-centered approach.
  • Connect applicants with training providers and conduct interviews to introduce CTE program offerings.
  • Meet with each participant upon enrollment and throughout the course, primarily at their class site or career readiness workshop.
  • Build supportive relationships with classroom instructors and training partners.
  • Provide counseling, guidance, and resources to participants, including referrals to service providers.
  • Manage caseload strategically according to client needs and milestone outcomes.
  • Monitor performance evaluations and each participant's job readiness progress.
  • Facilitate and present workshops, making improvements as necessary.
  • Track retention post-employment for 365 days through regular follow-up with employers and/or participants.
  • Distribute retention incentives to eligible participants as per program rules and requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes and records of changes in contact information.
  • Write and submit success stories and best practices.
  • Monitor attendance to ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Model professional work behaviors at all times for clients.
  • Represent Mission Services and Goodwill in the community through participation in appropriate organizations and networking events.
