About The Position

The Career Support Specialist position at CCAC is designed to provide students enrolled in career programs of study with essential academic information and support. The specialist will maintain contact with assigned Career Program students and refer them to other offices when appropriate. This role is crucial in ensuring that students receive the guidance they need to succeed in their academic pursuits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in student personnel, education, liberal arts, or related field.
• Two years of experience with students in a post-secondary educational institution.

Responsibilities

• Assist students enrolled in career program codes by providing academic support and assistance, including program planning, providing information, and assisting students with completing forms.
• Coordinate Early Intervention system for career program students.
• Monitor career program students from first semester at CCAC through graduation and initiate intervention when needed.
• Act as a liaison with Career Services, Counseling, Financial Aid, Supportive Services, Advisement, and the Learning Center for career program students.
• Maintain record of Career Program student contacts using Perkins database and assist in developing tracking mechanisms.
• Maintain contact with faculty.
• Provide facilitated study, workshops, support and/or other academic assistance to appropriate career program student groups.
• Market services to Career Program students through classroom presentations, mailings, and other means of communications.
• Perform other Perkins duties as assigned.
