About The Position

Under the general direction of the Director and Program Manager, the Career Services Manager, coordinates and manages administrative functions to include development and implementation of management and operations strategies that provide career services support to ASU FIDM fashion students. The Career Services Manager will be responsible for the school's internships, job opportunities, and alumni relations to aid in our students’ success in the fashion industry. Essential duties include, but are not limited to, conducting internship and career consultations with students; acting as a liaison with students, faculty and the employment community; and developing special programs and activities to meet career planning and placement needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Experience identifying prospective external stakeholders and initiating relationships with them, building external pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison with the community, students, faculty and staff in facilitating internship and job opportunities for our students.
  • Conduct internship and career consultation with students.
  • Develop special programs and activities to meet career planning and placement needs.
  • Identify and maintain community and industry partners to provide internship and job opportunities for our students.
  • Manage projects, including day-to-day functions (coordination and integration of information) as well as long range planning and design.
  • Assess unit operation functions related to career services, and develop and implement policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Manage Career Center communications including LinkedIn
  • Work independently and as part of a team, to solve problems, and make strategic decisions in alignment with the mission and vision of the unit.
