About The Position

The Career Services Counselor at MassHire Franklin Hampshire Career Center (MHFHCC) is responsible for providing individual and group career counseling and coaching to job seekers, particularly those enrolled in Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) programs. This role involves guiding individuals through career development, educational planning, and job readiness, while also collaborating with the Job Developer and Business Services Team to facilitate job matching and referrals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in employment, vocational, or educational counseling and assessment.
• Teaching or training experience in creating and presenting content to a target audience.
• Understanding of the public workforce investment system and experience using labor market information tools.
• Experience using databases, with MOSES experience preferred.
• Knowledge of area human service agencies and DTA program requirements.

• Experience in hybrid remote work environments.
• Familiarity with job readiness programs and curriculum development.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group career counseling and coaching to customers, including those in DTA programs.
• Conduct intake, skill and needs assessments, and career exploration for clients.
• Research labor market information and provide support for program eligibility and training opportunities.
• Develop and deliver job readiness and job search curriculum both in person and virtually.
• Create Individual Employment Plans (IEPs) and manage case follow-up support.
• Collaborate with the Job Developer and Business Services Team for job matching and referrals.
