About The Position
As a Career Services Coordinator at Southern Careers Institute (SCI), you will play a pivotal role in transforming the lives of students by helping them secure meaningful employment opportunities. This position is not just a job; it is a chance to be a life changer. You will collaborate closely with passionate educators and campus faculty to create an optimized environment that supports student success. Your efforts will directly impact the lives of countless SCI students throughout Texas, as you work to connect them with local and regional employers, non-profits, government organizations, and community partners. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships with various stakeholders to identify employment opportunities for students and alumni. You will develop and implement strategic plans aimed at achieving graduate employment goals, conduct site visits to enhance existing relationships with employers, and establish new partnerships. Your responsibilities will also include locating new employment sites, coordinating placement activities such as resume submissions and interviews, and documenting all employer relations activities in the Student Administrative System. Additionally, you will maintain a comprehensive database of employment opportunities and a resource library that includes career guidance references and employment literature. You will coordinate panel discussions with industry experts, attend networking events to expand the employer database, and plan workshops on job search topics for students and alumni. Your active participation in job and career fairs, as well as campus and off-campus events, will be crucial in promoting student engagement and success. Staying informed about employment and industry trends will also be a key aspect of your role, as you will share relevant insights with the Career Services and Education departments.
