About The Position

This is a full-time, on-site position reporting to the Assistant Director of Student Success. This position coordinates career development services, supports students and alumni in career exploration, skills first hiring practices, and job placement. It builds relationships with employers to create work-based learning opportunities learning and future employment opportunities. Additionally, this position will manage, support and report for the NWACC Microcredential program at the college. Currently this program operates under the Director of Digital Learning. Close collaboration with Digital Learning staff will be required as part of the job duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Counseling, Higher Education, Human Resources, or a related field, or 4 years of relatable work experience
  • Strong knowledge of career counseling techniques and best practices
  • Excellent organizational skills and event coordination experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships with employers and community stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with career services management platforms and common office software (e.g., MS Office Suite)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to present to groups

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group career counseling to students and alumni, including resume reviews, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
  • Plan, organize, and execute workshops, job fairs, and employer networking events.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with regional employers to create internships, part-time, and full-time employment opportunities for students.
  • Develop and distribute career resources, both digital and print, to support student career readiness.
  • Manage and promote the college's career services management system to track student engagement digital credential attainment, and employment outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Digital Learning to integrate career development and microcredentials into existing academic programs and assist with the development of new programs through employer outreach.
  • Collect and analyze data related to microcredential attainment, student employment and career services effectiveness; prepare reports for institutional, employer partners, and state reporting.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment trends, workforce development, and best practices in career counseling
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
