About The Position

The Career Services Coordinator serves as a critical member of the team to support the apprentices in successfully completing the apprenticeship program by providing coaching, job searching assistance and case management support to address the needs of apprentices.

Requirements

  • 4 years' work experience as a case manager, career coach, or relevant experience in a mentoring or advising role; or Bachelor’s degree + 2 years' work experience as a case manager, career coach, or relevant experience in a mentoring or advising role.
  • Demonstrates a people-centered coaching approach reflecting compassion, respect, and integrity.
  • Experience working with any or all of the following: Foster youth Ex-offenders/formerly incarcerated Addiction, recovery, and other life-challenges
  • Job training, job placement, adult education, and adult literacy
  • Proficient in Microsoft office 365 programs (Excel, Word, Power Point, One Drive, and Share Point).

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant lived experience (highly desirable).
  • Knowledge of workforce or industry trends in the food service and hospitality industry (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for apprentices during their year-long apprenticeship, building and maintaining rapport to ensure they receive the support needed to fulfill apprenticeship requirements.
  • Individually meet with apprentices on a regular basis to provide coordination of career coaching, job searching support, and resource navigation services.
  • Facilitate and teach established career readiness curriculum, providing apprentices with the soft skills necessary to successfully obtain and maintain careers in the food service and hospitality industry. Curriculum includes but is not limited to: resume building, time management, teamwork, and effective communication.
  • Collaborate with Chef Instructors to provide ongoing feedback on apprentice skill development, ensuring clear evaluations that support growth.
  • Partner with Employment Coordinator to match apprentices with Transitional Employment or KFG Employer Network opportunities based on skillsets, job readiness evaluations, and workplace fit.
  • Provide apprentices with support on self-guided job search techniques, such as assistance with job applications and interview preparation, and assist apprentices with finding job opportunities that fit their skills, job readiness, and work style. As needed, provide support to alumni in identifying and securing employment opportunities.
  • Provide coaching to Transitional Employment apprentices, incorporating supervisor evaluations and collaborative meetings to monitor performance and skill development.
  • Maintain frequent communication with apprentices to ensure that they are receiving all the support they need to retain employment. Provide support and troubleshooting when an apprentice has performance issues at their job.
  • Work with social service agencies to make case management referrals and track progress, while initiating partnerships with organizations that support apprentice needs. Maintain an up-to-date agency contact directory.
  • In collaboration with the Programs team, support key performance outcomes, including completion of initial training, job placement, job retention, and program completion.
  • Maintain accurate records in applicant tracking and CRM systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, ensuring case notes are accurately and efficiently documented in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects, as assigned.
