About The Position

The Career Services Advisor works with students to help identify and obtain jobs in their new career field. This individual is focused on the career development of students and graduates, while establishing relationships with prospective employers to meet the goals and objectives of the department.

Requirements

• 4 years in customer service or sales related experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in Career Services, student advisement, or related fields preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher; Associate’s degree will be considered for those with considerable professional experience.
• Strong computer literacy skills including basic knowledge of Google Suite applications.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks without compromising quality or service.
• Exhibits professionalism, strong work ethics, honesty, integrity, courtesy and respect in all dealings.

• Developing a thorough knowledge of procedures, policies, and processes.

Responsibilities

• Provides Job Placement Assistance by following up with students on job leads, monitoring progress of students interviewing, maintaining an active lead generation system, and communicating employment activities to students.
• Advises Students Regarding Career Search by assisting in developing employment goals, résumé and cover letter preparation, and interviewing skills, while maintaining employment resources.
• Conducts Career Services Training by participating in student orientation, facilitating online class instruction, and providing career coaching and educational workshops.
• Handles Student, Alumni and Employer Outreach by planning and promoting career fairs, developing relationships with local employers, advertising placement success, and maintaining records of job leads and placements.
• Follows Compliance Policy and Procedure by complying with regulations and adhering to company policies.
