About The Position
The Blast Technician - Product Surface Prep position at TrinityRail is a vital role within the manufacturing process, specifically focused on preparing railcar surfaces for coating operations. This position is located at the Jonesboro plant and is part of a dedicated team that ensures the quality and durability of the products that are essential to the supply chain. As a Blast Technician, you will be responsible for operating both automated and hand-held grit blast equipment to effectively remove scale, corrosion, paint, and dirt from the interior and exterior surfaces of railcars. This role requires a resilient and team-oriented individual who is not afraid to tackle challenges head-on. In this position, you will be expected to proficiently operate the automated blast system and expertly handle the hand-held grit blast equipment. You will also be responsible for performing minor repairs on the equipment, maintaining the blasting tools, and possibly engaging in specialty blasting operations as needed. Safety is a top priority, and you will be required to follow all safety rules and practices diligently. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to train lower-level technicians and participate in safety committees or initiatives, contributing to a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the workplace.
