The primary objective of this position is to facilitate individual and group lessons designed to assist students in their preparation for success throughout the entire CDSS period. The role involves providing facilitated instruction to students in varied classes and activities, focusing on the development of skills for long-term employability.

  • Performs as an instructional facilitator in a regular classroom setting, presenting instruction in varied classes and activities including preparatory and developmental Academic and Career Technical Education (CTE) foundational skills.
  • Implements and tracks the MYPace schedule, activities, and student performance, ensuring that students develop their Career Pathway Plans.
  • Facilitates CTE exploration and assessment activities, coordinating with hands-on vocational experiences.
  • Develops and evaluates the Career Preparation curriculum, working with vocational instructors and career transition staff.
  • Prepares adequately for classroom activities and maintains discipline to ensure maximum learning engagement.
  • Establishes rapport with students and instructors.
  • Maintains students’ folders, recording personal data, test scores, assessments, attendance, and other pertinent information.
  • Participates in student evaluation performance (ESPs) and evaluates student employees’ performance and employability skills.
  • Provides job development and placement services to all center graduates.
  • Monitors and reviews CIS reports for accuracy and required action.
  • Assists students in developing career goals and objectives.
  • Arranges and schedules required tests for student placement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle several projects simultaneously and implement time management principles.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and builds professional relationships with coworkers.
  • Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Computer literacy with basic functions, email, internet, and programs like Adobe Acrobat.
  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with payroll and/or HR applications or ability to learn quickly.
  • Experience in sales, marketing, or counseling-related services.
  • Above-average public speaking skills.
