About the position
The Entry Level Landscape Architect position at SmithGroup involves working collaboratively within a team to prepare design concepts, develop graphic illustrations, and support senior landscape architects in creating innovative and sustainable landscape solutions. This role is ideal for recent graduates or those with limited professional experience who are passionate about landscape architecture and eager to contribute to diverse projects across various sectors.
Responsibilities
- Prepare concepts, design development, and graphic illustrations under direct supervision.
- Participate in design meetings.
- Work with senior landscape architects to compile data and prepare design solutions.
- Collaborate with integrated teams of professionals including civil engineers, architects, and environmental scientists.
- Consult with product manufacturers to evaluate and select construction materials.
- Assist in editing technical specifications and reviewing shop drawings.
- Visit construction sites to gather information and support senior project team members during the construction phase.
- Utilize knowledge of plants to prepare planting plans and landscape master plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent.
- 1-4 years of professional experience (including summer, co-op, or intern work).
- High proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Technical knowledge of landscape architecture site development elements.
