About the position

The Career Navigator for the Disability Resource Project at Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Service, Inc. is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Minnesota's Equitable Transition Models (ETM) grant. This role focuses on enhancing employment outcomes for participants with disabilities by fostering strong relationships with state agencies, local businesses, and community partners. The position emphasizes creating an inclusive work environment and supporting the agency's equal opportunity efforts, while also allowing for remote work within an 11-county service area.

Responsibilities

  • Be the primary responsible person for the ETM grant and foster relationships with all lead partners.
  • Fully review and comprehend all aspects of the ETM grant and communicate changes effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with federal rules and regulations to protect the agency from disallowed costs.
  • Complete the Certified Work Incentive Coordinator (CWIC) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Deliver reports to the state of Minnesota regarding the ETM grant.
  • Assist with the completion of the ETM work-plan as written.
  • Monitor all aspects of the grant, identify potential concerns, and keep the program manager updated.
  • Develop strategies to advance Employment First outcomes for youth and adults with disabilities under the Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program.
  • Communicate with business service coordinators about opportunities and partnerships in the region.
  • Coordinate training for participants and recruit diverse and at-risk youth with disabilities.
  • Provide person-centered, strength-based assessments based on the Guide Post to Success framework.
  • Complete benefits counseling, training, and individualized support for youth with disabilities.
  • Outreach to young people participating in the Social Security Administration's Ticket to Work program.
  • Identify appropriate career pathway opportunities and coordinate with colleges for curriculum modifications.
  • Act as a liaison between jobseekers and businesses to ensure appropriate placements.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
  • Communicate updates and changes to all partners involved in the ETM grant.
  • Provide intensive individualized services based on assessment and coach participants on job retention techniques.
  • Administer vocational testing and interpret test results.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
