As a substitute, you would be expected to support the role on an as-needed basis, while adhering to the overall objectives of the program Duties & Responsibilities: Will teach each three-week session on Career and Life Development, High-Performance Skills, Mobile Technology, and Financial Literacy Develop and monitor Curriculum, syllabi, and Lesson Plans, teaming with CLD Department Head Collaborate with other faculty to integrate information literacy competencies throughout the teaching and learning process Present enthusiastic, well-prepared, organized lectures and interactive classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus Be familiar with college accrediting bodies and compliance as it pertains to the CLD program Model ethical and responsible use of information and information technology Implement and model the College mission, and CARES philosophy, incorporating professional and ethical standards Create and maintain an inviting classroom environment on-ground and online Maintain respect at all times for confidential information Maintain 90% or higher on course evaluations Maintain 88% or higher on quarterly student satisfaction surveys Maintain an 85% retention rate Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, faculty, and the public Promote good public relations through personal appearance, attitude, and conversation Other duties that may be assigned by the Department Head and/or President Knowledge, Skills, and Worker Characteristics: Strategic planning, goal setting, and evaluation Dynamic public speaking ability Maintain a working knowledge of Transcript/Canvas Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications Organizational skills, being proactive, creative and self-driven Interpersonal skills and ability to build and foster relationships Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to handle multiple tasks and demands Ability to analyze data and think strategically Ability to maintain confidentiality of information Ability to work with a diverse student population High-Performance Environment: Maintains a high-performance environment characterized by a strong team Defines goals and/or required results at the beginning of the performance period Communicates regularly with other staff toward defined goals and or required results. Self-motivated to improve quantity and quality of work performed and participates in training and development opportunities as appropriate QualificationsMinimum Requirements: Associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution is preferred. Verifiable education and/or experience directly related to High-Performance Skills, Financial Literacy, and Mobile Technology courses are required to teach the classes. A minimum of three years of professional experience is also required. Previous teaching/instructional experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have: In-person/distance education experience Management skills Curriculum development experience Public speaking ability Polished professional demeanor Have a sincere desire to motivate and help others succeed in achieving their dreams General Function: The Career Life Development (CLD) Instructor will be responsible for implementing, instructing, and coordinating the Life Skills Program for the College's on-ground, and on occasion online courses. Subject material will cover a recurring three-week session on High-Performance Skills, Financial Literacy, and Mobile Technology for all students prior to entering their core program.
