About The Position

The Career Education & Partnerships Specialist at Spokane Falls Community College is responsible for coordinating career education programs and services, acting as a liaison between faculty, students, and industry. This role involves scheduling workshops, assisting students with credit for prior learning, maintaining office operations, and promoting CTE programs to K-12 partners and prospective students. The Specialist will also manage outreach efforts and maintain relationships with local employers to enhance employment opportunities for students and alumni.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Two or more years of experience in career services, advising, or a related field.
  • Experience promoting and marketing programs.
  • Experience in an education setting.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and provide workshops and activities regarding career development, such as job applications, resumes, cover letters, career exploration, interviewing, job searching, and networking.
  • Make presentations in appropriate courses about the services provided by the Career Education Office.
  • Help students complete Academic Credit for Prior Learning forms and understand the processes.
  • Connect students with the appropriate faculty and college support staff.
  • Maintain a database to aid in reporting and archiving information.
  • Create reports to assist the Manager in tracking activities and student engagement.
  • Oversee daily operations of the office and delegate tasks to student employees.
  • Maintain program literature, quarterly newsletter, website, and other marketing materials.
  • Provide appropriate referrals to internal and/or external resources that can serve specific student or faculty member needs.
  • Maintain positive relationships with employers to maximize meaningful employment opportunities for students and alumni.
  • Assist with planning and promotion of special events.
  • Act as the point of contact for students and faculty about service learning and internship opportunities.
  • Assist with grant-related projects.
  • Compile and write content for digital recruitment and retention communications.
  • Maintain reporting/dashboards for all campaigns and report results to the Manager.
  • Make public presentations regarding SFCC CTE programs and admission requirements.
  • Assist the Manager in delivering K-12 CTE programming and represent SFCC at regional functions.
  • Gather data and prepare reports for the Manager to determine areas for improvement and program success.
