The Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) is seeking a Career Development Student and Program Support Manager. This position involves managing internship logistics, including outreach to employers, students, and faculty, as well as critiquing resumes and assisting employers with freelance requests. The manager will also offer in-class presentations upon request and develop written materials for students, alumni, faculty, and employers. Additionally, the role includes compiling and verifying data sources for communication, promoting career-related initiatives, and managing career development systems such as an employer/job listing database and the MassArt Career Development website. The position requires creating and delivering presentations to help students and alumni effectively utilize career development resources.

  • Manage internship logistics including outreach to employers, students, and faculty.
  • Critique resumes.
  • Assist employers with freelance requests.
  • Offer in-class presentations when requested.
  • Develop, create, and design written materials, both print and web-based, for students, alumni, faculty, and employers.
  • Compile and verify data sources for print and web-based communication with attention to detail.
  • Identify, coordinate, and promote academic year career-related initiatives and on-campus events.
  • Manage career development systems including an employer/job listing database (Handshake) and the MassArt Career Development website.
  • Create and give presentations to demonstrate how to effectively utilize career development systems and resources.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2-4 years of full-time or part-time related experience
  • Demonstrated visual communication skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated graphic design skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to multitask and manage a variety of projects to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of a specialized art college audience, Higher Education, and the college student experience
  • Familiarity with art & design professional career practices
  • Event planning experience
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively and complete tasks without direct supervision
  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment and demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills.
