About The Position

Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is excited to announce a full-time grant-funded opening for the position of Career Development Specialist – P08087 with DOC – Florida Women's Reception Center (Ocala, FL). We are looking for someone who shares our commitment to fostering a vibrant workplace community. Requirements

  • An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in the workforce development, social services or corrections field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.

  • An Associate’s Degree and one year of experience in the social services or corrections field.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating employability and life skills, administration and interpretation of assessments, and training to include the Compass 100 hybrid curriculum and Thinking for a Change.
  • Providing services related to Compass 100 Hybrid and supplemental in-cell assignments through cell-front instruction for eligible participants who are in restrictive housing as directed by the Lead Educator.
  • Providing facilitation of employability and life skills programs.
  • Providing administration and interpretation of assessments.
  • Providing services related to Compass 100 Hybrid through a small group setting to eligible participants who are not in restrictive housing as directed by the Lead Educator and other programs as determined by the Department.
  • Providing facilitation of pre-release connections with community providers and employers through face-to-face and technology-based interactions to include pre-release job search, recruitment, and placement activities.
  • Reporting monthly attendance, program enrollments and completions on the Department of Corrections approved format.
  • Maintaining and providing documentation of services delivered.
