About The Position

Career Counselor needed to work in Cole County and will also work in Callaway, Osage, and Moniteau counties. The coach provides career coaching, family support services, and case management to help lift people out of poverty. Assist individuals who receive food stamps to gain skills, training, and work experience using a strengths-based whole-family approach. Assist with developing goals by assessing career training pathways and preparing for employment (writing resumes, job applications, and mock interviews); address barriers and support the family. Promote the program through recruitment, meetings, and community events. Requirements

  • Must have general knowledge of family development and social services
  • Willingness to become certified with a Family Development Credential (FDC) during the first 2 years of employment (paid by employer)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience as a case manager or social worker is helpful
  • Prefer related college degree
  • Prefer experience working with low-income families
