Position at a Glance We are seeking a talented Career Consultant to assist job seekers unlock their potential and achieve meaningful employment. The ideal candidate is passionate about guiding individuals through barriers, connecting them to training, and supporting their career advancement. This role requires strong case management skills, including developing and monitoring individualized employment plans (IEPs), delivering structured employment services, and maintaining consistent engagement with participants. Success in this position depends on the ability to balance a caseload while ensuring each job seeker receives personalized, goal driven support from assessment through job placement. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Services, or a related field; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • Two years of experience in workforce development with a concentration in case management.
  • Knowledge of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), labor market trends, and resources to remove barriers to employment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and workforce systems such as the Maryland Workforce Exchange (MWE).
  • Strong communication skills with experience guiding individuals through job readiness development.
  • Provides consistent customer service while effectively identifying sustainable career pathways.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to support multiple caseloads and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of support for job seekers, providing resources and structured case management.
  • Conduct initial screenings to determine eligibility, service needs, and appropriate program pathways.
  • Manage a high volume caseload, ensuring all participants receive timely support and services.
  • Develop individualized employment plans that outline clear goals, timelines, and action steps.
  • Monitor progress towards employment goals, adjust plans as needed, and provide consistent follow-up.
  • Provide job placement assistance, referrals, and ongoing career coaching.
  • Connect individuals to training, support services, and community resources that address barriers to employment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case documentation to support program initiatives and compliance.
  • Provide excellent customer service and consistent communication with job seekers.
  • Facilitate orientations, presentations, and participate in outreach events.
  • Review labor market trends to identify high- demand industries and career pathways.
