Requirements

  • Master's degree in business, education, counseling, or related field (relevant work experience can substitute); minimum of 4 years' work experience in corporate functions or relevant experience in career coaching/advising.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to listen attentively to students and other stakeholders.
  • An interest in supporting students navigating career transitions with confidence and clarity.
  • An entrepreneurial orientation, proven track record of taking initiative.
  • Exceptional resume writing, interviewing and job search skills.
  • Demonstrated project management abilities, interpersonal skills, and excellence in oral and written communication.
  • Strong organizational work skills, defining tasks, prioritizing assignments, and following through on all projects independently.
  • Must be able to develop effective presentations and speak confidently to large audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Highly proficient with web-based resources, spreadsheet and presentation software required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity and experience with distance learning methods and technologies.
  • Experience supporting students with F-1 student visas.
  • Extensive knowledge of job search skills and recruiting processes for technology, financial services, or consulting industries.
  • Deep knowledge of career fields within business education.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective rapport with students, alumni, and recruiters.
  • Proficiency with pivot tables in Excel for data analysis.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, Learning Management Systems, and/or 12Twenty.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and/or other remote communication technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one career coaching and small group advising on resumes, interviews, career strategy, networking, and salary negotiation.
  • Stay abreast of best practices and trends for specific industries/functional areas.
  • Serve as a liaison to faculty and staff relevant to student caseload.
  • Track student progress and employability, conduct outreach, and collect internship and post-graduation employment data.
  • Collaborate with the Career Education & Coaching team to continually develop career education strategy, content, pedagogy, and mode of delivery to meet evolving students' learning needs.
  • Coordinate and execute caseload-specific career curriculum, customized to core student population.
  • Create relevant digital content for online channels and maintain online resources.
  • Explore and define opportunities for expanding remote/online delivery capabilities.
  • Participate in appropriate professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and trends in recruiting and career advising.
  • Request programming funds and submit requests through McCombs Intranet System for events, room reservations, purchase orders, contracts, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Employer Engagement & Special Events team to develop and execute new programming, panels, and recruiting events.
  • Oversee 1 or more major projects individually or in partnership with other team members.
  • Manage communication strategy and under-represented student pre-matriculation career prep.
  • Curate digital content and resources to asynchronously support students.
  • Sourcing, onboarding, and management of part time student workers or industry career consultants.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $60,000+ depending on qualifications.
