About The Position

The purpose of this position is to provide supervision, training, and support to Employees who are working at Goodwill of Orange County and participating in the Career Pathways program. This role is responsible for assisting program participants in achieving their Individual Career and Financial Plan (ICFP) Goals, ensuring job retention, and providing resources needed for career planning. The position involves promoting Goodwill's brand, meeting with program participants at work-sites, acting as a liaison between program participants and career navigators, and completing required program documentation.

Requirements

  • High school or GED required; some college course work in human services or related area preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective grammar, English and writing skills.
  • PC Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Reliable transportation, valid California driver's license, liability insurance, and a DMV record acceptable to Goodwill's insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes a caseload of program participants ready for coaching services as recommended by the Career Pathways Supervisor.
  • Provide personal and career counseling for program participants in line with their established ICFP.
  • Maintains consistent and effective communication with program participants, Career Navigators, job site supervisors, and others within the program participant's circle of support.
  • Assists in monitoring progress of career goals and works with individuals to access trainings and resources to aid in career development.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork including case notes, monthly statistics, progress reports, and ICFP progress.
  • Communicates with participants, support network, and Career Navigator to help program participants succeed in the workforce.
  • Become familiar with the needs and limitations of assigned program participants to ensure appropriate resources and assistance are provided.
  • Assists Career Navigator by attending and aiding in facilitating program enrollments.
  • Promotes peer support component at intake.
  • Demonstrate cooperation and ongoing communication with Career Navigator.
  • Supports ongoing vocational trainings and/or skills workshops to bolster success and career development of program participants.
  • Assists program participants in accessing community resources to facilitate greater well-being and independence.
  • Aids in advocating program participants needs relating to training with area supervisor.
  • Drives on company business as required.
  • Safeguards company property, including donated goods.
  • Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of company property.
  • Acts safely at all times, following all safety rules and regulations.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and teamwork.
  • Assists and shares knowledge and information with other employees as needed.
  • Uses good interpersonal skills such as courtesy, sensitivity, politeness, and thoughtfulness.
  • Works with, trains, and/or acts as a good example for program participants.
