Chrysalis is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and support needed to find and retain employment. Our Mission is to serve people navigating barriers to the workforce by offering a job-readiness program, individualized supportive services, and paid transitional employment. We empower our clients on their pathway to stability, security, and fulfillment in their work and lives. Led by LA County's Justice, Cares, and Opportunities Department, the Skills and Experiences for the Careers of Tomorrow (SECTOR) program is aimed at (1) reducing unemployment and increasing earnings; (2) reducing recidivism; and (3) improving behavioral health and well-being by preparing and matching people with justice involvement to jobs in high-growth industries. The program seeks to serve individuals who have encountered the criminal or juvenile justice system and have a history of mild to moderate mental health and/or substance use disorders. Chrysalis will work closely with training partners to skill up clients, in high growth sectors such as social assistance, healthcare, government, hospitality, information technology (IT), etc.; while also providing critical support through employment coaching to support clients in getting ready for, finding and keeping a job. This is a grant funded program with multiple funding streams.
