About The Position
The Career Coach for the Accelerate U program at National Louis University plays a pivotal role in guiding learners through their educational journey and into successful employment. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about helping others achieve their career goals, particularly those from diverse backgrounds. The Career Coach will work closely with learners enrolled in the medical assistant training track initially, with the potential to expand coaching to other training tracks as the program evolves. The primary responsibility of the Career Coach is to provide personalized coaching and mentoring, ensuring that each learner receives the support they need to navigate their training, externship, and job placement processes effectively. In this role, the Career Coach will facilitate weekly cohort coaching sessions using the established Accelerate U/Propel coaching curriculum, ensuring that learners are engaged and motivated. Individual check-ins will be conducted weekly or bi-weekly to assess progress and address any challenges that may arise. The Career Coach will also collaborate with instructors to identify areas where learners may need additional support, fostering a strong partnership to enhance the overall learning experience. The Career Coach will serve as a vital resource for learners, helping them to build a professional network, prepare for job applications and interviews, and ultimately secure employment. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, as the Career Coach will assist learners in creating personalized success plans and connecting them with university and community resources. Additionally, the Career Coach will track learner progress and communicate regularly with the Accelerate U team to ensure that all participants are on track to meet their goals. This role is not only about providing guidance but also about building a supportive community among learners, both virtually and in-person, to foster motivation and collaboration.
