About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Career Associate at Indiana Members Credit Union. This role involves working in various capacities within the branch while also gaining exposure to back-office operations to determine your skill level in various positions at the credit union. The goal of this position is to find a suitable position that aligns with both IMCU’s needs and the applicant’s skills and aspirations. You will have the opportunity to interact with our members, provide exceptional member service, and support your team with branch operations and learn the infrastructure of several back office operations and departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Previous experience in customer service or banking is preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies in the banking industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or associates degree in business administration, finance, or related field.
  • Previous experience at a financial institution
  • Efficient in use of computer technology and software such as Microsoft
  • Minimum 6 month IMCU experience for internal applicants

Responsibilities

  • Interact with members in a friendly and professional manner, assisting them with their banking needs and inquiries.
  • Perform various branch operations tasks, including but not limited to cash handling, account transactions, and opening/closing procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth branch operations and provide assistance as needed.
  • Learn and understand back-office operations through a detailed training program, including processing transactions, account maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in customer service, accuracy, and efficiency to ensure member satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
  • Display leadership skills by taking initiative, problem-solving, and assisting colleagues in achieving branch goals.
  • Utilize sales ability to identify opportunities for cross-selling products and services to meet member needs and enhance their banking experience.
  • Adapt and learn various credit union department operations and functions including but not limited to marketing, commercial services, compliance, and accounting
  • Commit to extensive IMCU training program and additional external training opportunities promoting professional career development
  • Participate in Career Associate Mentor Program to receive guidance, support, and expertise from executive leadership
