About The Position

Summary: The Adjunct Nursing Instructor plays a vital role in supporting the development of practical nursing students by providing hands-on instruction and supervision in both clinical settings and the campus skills lab. This position requires travel to designated clinical sites and active participation in on-campus lab activities to ensure students gain the practical competencies necessary for success in nursing practice.

Requirements

  • Must have and maintain an unencumbered registered nursing license in Mississippi.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing.
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience working as a registered nurse; or have two (2) years experience as faculty in a nursing/allied health program
  • Possess valid CPR Card
  • Clearance once selected: satisfy clinical agency requirements, i.e., background checks, immunizations, CPR, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of clinical experience working as a registered nurse; or
  • three (3) years of experience as faculty in a nursing/allied health program

Responsibilities

  • Travel to assigned clinical sites to supervise and mentor nursing students during their clinical rotations.
  • Satisfy clinical agency requirements.
  • Ensure students adhere to professional standards, safety protocols, and clinical objectives.
  • Collaborate with clinical site staff to facilitate a positive learning environment.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assist students in developing and practicing essential nursing skills in the campus lab.
  • Provide instruction that aligns with the curriculum and current best practices.
  • Maintain lab equipment and ensure a safe, organized learning space.
  • Support faculty in preparing lab materials and assessments.
  • Recommends new and/or replacement equipment to be purchased for the program.
  • Attend faculty meetings
