About The Position

The Career Advisor position at Florida Tech involves providing individual career advising and resources to assist students and alumni in their job searches, including internships, co-ops, and full-time employment. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in business, education, psychology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience advising, counseling, or teaching students/adults in career/professional development.
• Demonstrated administrative experience managing and coordinating programs in an educational setting.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with effective public speaking and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with high attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a small team and manage interactions professionally.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual conference tools such as Zoom.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience using Handshake or Symplicity programs preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Meet individually with students and alumni to advise them on employment options and job search techniques.
• Manage all activities related to the Co-op/Internship program, including student advising and collaboration with faculty advisors.
• Plan, create, and present career education workshops and webinars.
• Assist with office marketing and outreach to students to promote participation in career-related activities.
• Assist with employer and career services events such as career fairs and information sessions.
• Manage and promote the Host a Panther Externship program by developing new opportunities for students.
• Maintain the Panther Careers system, including job approvals and student records.
• Develop and maintain relationships with employers to expand internship and co-op opportunities.
