About The Position

The Career Advisor at NEOMED is responsible for guiding a cohort of medical students from pre-matriculation through their medical education, focusing on career development and residency application support. This role involves counseling students on career goals, facilitating their involvement in relevant organizations, and assisting with the preparation of their residency applications and interviews.

Requirements

• Master's Degree
• Three years' experience in career services and/or student leadership activities in higher education, preferably in medical student advising or pre-health advising.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Degrees in higher education and/or advising
• Military experience to coordinate a military mentoring program.

Responsibilities

• Develop career goals with a cohort of students from matriculation to graduation.
• Counsel and advise individual students based on their career goals and aspirations.
• Address curricular, performance, and scheduling concerns for students.
• Foster student involvement in organizations and research events related to career development.
• Provide advising services to medical students, accommodating their busy schedules, including evening and weekend hours.
• Counsel students in preparation for their ERAS applications, including CV/resume review and personal statement guidance.
• Generate individual medical student performance evaluation (MSPE) reports for specific students.
• Advise students on the residency interview process.
• Collaborate with academic partners, faculty, alumni, and other stakeholders to enhance career preparation activities for medical students.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Benefits

• Starting salary range of $46,300 - $54,788, commensurate with experience.
