Through personalized counseling and coaching, the CA helps customers enhance their training and professional skillsets to secure employment in their desired fields. This role is instrumental in expanding job seeker opportunities through strategic career exploration.

Requirements

  • Understanding of workforce and economic development, and project management.
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution, case management, and career counseling.
  • Strong computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Skilled in handling challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and case management capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Prior workforce development experience strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive career assessments for a diverse range of customers, including professionals and individuals facing employment barriers.
  • Identify training needs, vocational skills, employment history, and career interests to guide jobseekers toward long-term goals.
  • Recommend and enroll eligible customers in local, state, and federal workforce programs.
  • Guide participants through career development using tools such as aptitude assessments, resume writing, and interview techniques.
  • Provide labor market insights including industry opportunities, qualifications, and salary expectations.
  • Educate participants on job search strategies and industry trends using digital and traditional resources.
  • Assist with resume development, mock interviews, and job search planning.
  • Share information on training programs, educational vendors, financial aid, and scholarships.
  • Refer participants to occupational skills training, apprenticeships, and work-based learning opportunities.
  • Submit Individual Training Account (ITA) and supportive service requests promptly.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with customers for career advising, case management, and progress monitoring.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal teams, external partners, and the public.
  • Partner with the business solutions unit to identify employment opportunities.
  • Screen and refer participants to suitable job openings, focusing on training-related development.
  • Continuously seek improvements to workforce services aligned with labor market needs.
  • Accurately manage customer data and documentation in management information systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards.
