About The Position

The CARE Site Coordinator at Wilmette Park District is responsible for implementing positive youth development practices and ensuring program quality in a childcare setting. This role involves supervising staff, overseeing daily activities, and maintaining a safe and engaging environment for participants.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous experience in a childcare or educational setting.
• Ability to maintain and support high-quality programs.
• Ability to make effective decisions and communicate well with fellow team members, parents, and participants.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety of all participants and CARE Counselors at all times.
• Provide guidance to staff while onsite in adhering to program quality standards.
• Serve as the on-site point person during emergency situations.
• Implement and execute program activities with school-aged program staff.
• Supervise the preparation and distribution of snacks/meals to participants.
• Maintain daily attendance records.
• Assist in daily participant arrival and departure procedures.
• Maintain a positive relationship with all employees, participants, parents, vendors, and volunteers.
• Communicate any site employee, participant behavioral or disciplinary problems to the Recreation Supervisor.
• Keep assigned areas clean and sanitized as needed.
• Actively support the agency's risk management protocol to control and reduce accidents.
• Obey safety rules, regulations, and procedures established by the Safety Committee and participate in required safety trainings.
• Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices, or conditions to the immediate supervisor.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs.
