Department/Unit Summary: The environment in the Vanderbilt Interdisciplinary Care Program is friendly, positive, and enthusiastic. We care for adult patients ranging in age from 18 and older who are being treated for multiple medical conditions often associated with the additional stressors of being under-resourced, homeless, or with addiction issues. Our patients are unique because we have created a medical home incorporating an interdisciplinary team that collaboratively works to improve health, reduce the dependence of emergency rooms as a primary source of care, and reduce hospital admissions. Shift: Full-Time Night Shift - 6:45 pm - 7:15 am (three 12-hour shifts/week) Shifts do rotate throughout the week Note: Set schedules are not available. Schedules are determined by unit clinical staffing needs. All Employees (Night shift & PRN included) are required to attend hospital orientation during regular daytime hours during the first week of employment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) AND one of the following:
• Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical), or
• Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required), or
• Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Assists with day-to-day delivery of patient care.
• Facilitates efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards.
• Serves as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs.
• Supports unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment, and unit environmental standards.
