Department/Unit Summary: We care for critically ill adult patients ranging in age from 18 years and older who are being treated for Acute Respiratory Failure, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), Multisystem Organ System Failure, Sepsis, Drug Overdoses, Gastrointestinal Bleeds, Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Hypertensive Crisis, Acute/Chronic Renal Failure, and Liver Failure/Cirrhosis. Our patients are unique because of the variety of patients admitted to the MICU which allows for the development of critical thinking and intensive care assessment skills. Shift: PRN -Time Night Shift - 6:45 pm - 7:15 am PRN staff are required to work a minimum of four 12-hour shifts every six weeks; however, candidates must commit to a full-time orientation period (three 12-hour shifts per week) for the first 4 weeks of employment. All Employees (Night shift & PRN included) are required to attend hospital orientation during regular daytime hours during the first week of employment. Care Partner Position Qualifications: Required: High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) AND one of the following: Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical), or Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required), or Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) AND one of the following:
• Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical), or
• Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required), or
• Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Assists with day to day delivery of patient care.
• Facilitates efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards.
• Serves as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs.
• Supports unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment and unit environmental standards.
