Department/Unit Summary: The Myelosuppression (Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant) i s a 34-bed unit that specializes in stem cell transplants, malignant hematology and clinical trials. Our patient focus is on family-centered patient care and maintaining the patient’s quality of life. A typical shift for our nurses includes caring for patients with the assistance of a care partner; administering chemotherapy, blood products, a variety of medications, reviewing laboratory findings and collaborating with the medical team to assess and address goals of care; educating patients on disease and treatment options. We are dedicated to providing a fulfilling and high energy work environment. Schedules are determined by unit clinical staffing needs. All Employees (Night shift & PRN included) are required to attend hospital orientation during regular daytime hours during the first week of employment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) AND one of the following:
Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical), or
Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required), or
Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.
