Organization: Med/Surg 1 North Job Summary: JOB SUMMARY Assists the nursing staff and patients with basic care needs, implementing orders, and evaluating care for various patients within the facility. Reports directly to the charge nurse and Clinical Director of the unit. This position works in conjunction with other members of nursing service, ancillary services, physicians, patients, and families. It collaborates with various members of the healthcare team to ensure quality of care across the continuum. Requires the ability to be self-directed and quality focused. Unit Details: 1 North 30 bed unit in which we care for adult patients who are being treated for general surgery, orthopedics, bariatrics, gastrointestinal, urology, plastics, peritoneal dialysis, vascular, wounds, oncology, and various medical diagnoses. Our patients are unique because of the variety of diagnoses we treat and each one has different needs. Schedule: 6:45 pm to 7:15 am. Rotating holidays and weekends Qualifications: Mandatory: High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) and one of the three below: Certification: Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program, (the certification is not mandatory, but a certificate of completion is necessary) or Experience: Minimum of six months of previous experience as a care partner or nursing assistant/technician or Education: Current enrollment in a program of professional nursing LPN or RN and successful completion of the first semester of nursing school to include nursing fundamentals
