About The Position

The Care Navigator is the first point of contact for all member and provider inquiries, serving as a professional who embodies confidence, a passion for health and wellness, and practices empathetic listening in every interaction. This role is crucial in providing high-touch assistance to members in various areas, including benefit questions, provider selection, health improvement, and identification of care resources. The Care Navigator facilitates benefit utilization by assisting members with appointment scheduling and preparing for medical appointments. They are tasked with finding creative solutions to overcome member barriers, recognizing that while some members follow the typical healthcare consumer path, others have unique needs that require initiative and creative thinking to locate the appropriate resources. In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Care Navigator is also involved in closing gaps in care, assisting with appointment scheduling, and communicating with providers to ensure the best customer care experience. This position requires a strong commitment to understanding and addressing the diverse needs of members, ensuring that they receive the support necessary to navigate the complexities of the healthcare system effectively. The Care Navigator must demonstrate a desire to positively impact members' health coverage experiences through empathetic listening and a high-touch approach, building cohesive relationships and providing resources and education that empower members. The role demands adaptability and the ability to thrive in a high-energy, creative, and evolving work environment. Care Navigators must handle multiple duties with minimal direction, applying critical thinking skills to make decisions based on individual needs. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer skills.
