About The Position

The Care Ministry Coordinator provides strategic planning, execution, and administrative coordination to support individuals and families within the church and broader community through practical assistance (benevolence) and compassionate care during times of need. This role oversees and equips the Care Ministry Dream Team, ensuring effective, organized, and timely responses to care requests. This position is ministry and social work-adjacent, integrating pastoral care values with practical helping systems, community resources, and relational support. The Care Ministry Coordinator is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position, scheduled for 20 hours per week, and reports to the Care Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in a field related to social work and/or ministry
  • At least two years of related experience required.
  • Ability to work with and oversee individuals & teams of volunteers
  • Ability to take initiative with projects and be self-motivated
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
  • Commitment to continual growth in personal spiritual life and relationship with Christ
  • Attend Tuesday Staff Prayer Meetings, All Staff Meetings, “All Hands On Deck” Events
  • “Serve One and Attend One” at weekly Oaks Church Sunday services.
  • Support the vision, values and ministry of Oaks Church through tithing, serving, etc.
  • Proactive thinking and willing to learn and train others
  • Model a Godly life for volunteers
  • Be teachable with a humble and submissive attitude
  • Maintain all information confidential (about staff, projects, property, members, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Administrative & Operational Support – Provide administrative and operational support for the Care Ministry, including reception, event coordination, dashboard maintenance, and preparation and distribution of routine ministry reports.
  • Benevolence – Oversee benevolence intake, administration, and documentation ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Dream Team – Manage Dream Team records, scheduling, and attendance through church systems, and facilitate clear communication with volunteers.
  • Practical Assistance – Coordinate practical care efforts by connecting individuals in need with appropriate teams (e.g., Handyman Team, Care Response Team), managing communication, scheduling, and project planning.
  • Care & Compassionate Response – Provide logistical support for care-related needs, including care gestures (flowers, card, grief resources), and coordination of funerals and family meals.
  • All other duties as assigned.
