About The Position

The Patient Services Care Coordinator at Twin Cities Pain Clinic is responsible for managing and organizing all aspects of patient care, particularly in relation to surgical services. This role involves direct interaction with patients, scheduling appointments, coordinating with healthcare teams, and ensuring a seamless patient experience throughout their treatment journey.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED plus one year of medical clinic experience, or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree (preferred).
  • Minimum of one year of strong customer service experience with exceptional listening and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical terminology and insurance payor knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct contact with patients, both in-person and via telephone.
  • Schedule patient appointments relating to surgery and procedure orders.
  • Act as direct contact for surgical procedure and injection scheduling.
  • Communicate with the healthcare team about a patient's treatment plan.
  • Help patients complete paperwork and make phone calls.
  • Coordinate with other departments and outside facilities.
  • Complete pre-procedure screening and education.
  • Assist with prescription prior authorization and completion of forms.
  • Coordinate patient appointments, including diagnostic tests, physical therapy, and pain psychology, in accordance with the patient's treatment plan.
  • Assist clinical team with patient tracking.
  • Update patient information in EHR including medications, allergies, primary care physician, pharmacy, etc.
  • Enroll patients in the patient portal.
  • Coordinate the transmission and acquisition of necessary patient records.
  • Manage all anticoagulant hold requests and facilitate timely completion of the request.
  • Contact patient, prescriber, and pharmacy as needed.
  • Cross train to other departments as needed.
  • Prepare and send out information packets to patients prior to surgery.
  • Communicate with Medical Device Representatives to coordinate in-person device support.
  • Communicate with Providers and Physicians as needed regarding appointment scheduling and educational materials.
  • Comply with organizational and HIPAA policies and regulations to ensure patient care is kept confidential.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties and tasks as assigned.
