About The Position

This position serves under the direction of the Community Based Services (CBS) Clinical Manager to complete Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) Waiver documentation in order to fulfill to standards set forth by the State of Kansas and Horizons Mental Health Center. This position also serves to support the CBS Department in accurate and complete documentation for other programs under the CBS umbrella. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Requirements

  • Basic familiarity with community mental health services in general and services within Horizons Mental Health Center preferred.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills as well as attention to detail and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Timely communication with the Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and state agencies, including Kansas Dept. of Health and Environment (KDHE) and Kansas Dept. of Aging and Disability Services (KDADS), to gain approval for services and resolve eligibility issues.
  • Working knowledge of State of Kansas systems used to enter information and check service authorizations (ex. KAMIS, MCO authorization websites) for children applying or currently on the SED Waiver.
  • Collaborate with other departments within Horizons MHC to assist with claims filing and state/MCO audits.
  • Audit SED Waiver Plans of Care (POCs) and work collaboratively with Health Information Management (HIM) to ensure compliance with State regulations and guidelines.
  • Assist HMHC staff as needed in completing all necessary documents required to determine a consumer’s eligibility for SED Waiver.
  • General data entry for CBS department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
