About The Position

The position involves completing referrals for patients and coordinating with referring and receiving practices and/or departments. The role may also include preparing financial estimates for patients and obtaining necessary authorizations. The individual will direct patients to providers within their insurance plan, review benefits, and educate patients on their insurance coverage. Additionally, the position requires coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, or other services with various departments and providers. The individual will review and confirm schedules to ensure accuracy and proper time allocation, and follow up on all referrals to prevent care gaps.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Thorough understanding of insurance coverage and medical necessity policies preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical records software preferred.
  • Customer service experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Ability to bend and lift up to 10 lbs.

Responsibilities
