Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program (or military medical specialty training)
  • Six months related work experience
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant by the Washington State
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification
  • Quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire

Responsibilities

  • Vital signs monitoring (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, oxygen saturation)
  • Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Assisting with ambulation and mobility
  • Providing basic wound care as directed
  • Measuring and recording intake and output
  • Maintaining a clean and safe patient environment
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing staff immediately
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Participate in unit-based meetings and in-services
  • Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of medical equipment and supplies
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures
  • Maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently
