About The Position

The Echo Sonographer III position involves performing comprehensive ultrasound exams while adhering to established protocols. The role requires verifying patient identity, educating patients, and ensuring their safety during procedures. The sonographer will also assist in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Additional responsibilities include performing EKGs, stress tests, EEGs, and other delegated duties, as well as completing clerical tasks related to ultrasound tests. The position emphasizes communication with physicians, patients, and other personnel, maintaining a pleasant and informative demeanor. Teamwork and personal accountability are crucial, as is the maintenance of a clean and orderly work environment. The sonographer is expected to identify personal learning needs and engage in professional development activities.

Requirements

  • Registry through CCI or ARDMS.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency with computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Performs comprehensive ultrasound exams following established protocols.
  • Verifies patient identity and ensures patient education, cooperation, and safety during procedures.
  • Assists in continuing quality assurance and performance improvement.
  • Performs EKGs, stress tests, EEGs, and other delegated duties with training and support.
  • Completes clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensures critical results are reported promptly and maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Communicates effectively with physicians, patients, and other center personnel.
  • Maintains a pleasant and informative manner in communication.
  • Makes recommendations to supervisors regarding duties, policies, and procedures.
  • Enhances teamwork and demonstrates personal accountability.
