About The Position

Under the supervision of a licensed cardiologist, provides technical support and assistance to the physician diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral disease and cardiac arrythmias in the Cath Lab. Includes but is not limited to diagnostic and interventional angiography procedures, pacemaker/ICD implantation, electrophysiology procedures, and other interventional cardiac/vascular procedures. Provides patient care, operates equipment, and performs scrub, circulator and hemodynamic monitoring duties during procedures using clinical knowledge, technical skills, and professional judgement in accordance with professional and departmental standards and protocols. Must have a strong work ethic and ability to multitask in a high-stress environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in the Cardiac Cath Lab
  • ARRT, RCIS, or RCES.
  • Current CPR card or completion of course within 30 days of hire.
  • Current ACLS certification within 3 months employment.
  • Advanced ECG interpretation skills required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and radiation exposure required.
  • Proficiency in radiation safety practices required.
  • Core customer service skills required.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Able to work in latex-burdened environment.
  • Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking and standing.
  • Able to frequently lift up to 60 lbs., reach, pull, bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to read, write, and evaluate medical images.
  • Able to hear, or correctable with hearing devices, and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the telephone.
  • Able to hear, see, and feel to accurately observe, monitor, and administer care.
  • Possess fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care.
  • Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections.
