About The Position

Provides support to physician performing non-invasive and/or invasive cardiovascular procedures.

Requirements

• Vocational or Technical school Diploma required.
• Specialized license and/or certification, required.
• Current Basic Life Support Professional Certification OR Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certificationm required.
• 1-3 years of technical experience, required.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of duties to prepare unit for non-invasive and/or invasive cardiovascular procedures.
• Ensures all instrumentation/equipment for each procedure is presented on table in established fashion.
• Prepares sterile field for procedures and adheres to aseptic technique, as required.
• Obtains and prepares physician equipment for procedure to be performed.
• Prepares patient for procedure. Responds to patient’s questions alleviating concerns regarding procedure. Ensures patient is correctly prepped and draped in a sterile fashion.
• Enters patient and procedural information into computer system.
• Monitors patient status during procedure, including hemodynamic data, electrocardiogram, blood pressure, chest pain, etc. Collects all pertinent data and calculations for physician’s interpretation of results.
• Balances, calibrates and records appropriate hemodynamic data as well as intervenes in cardiopulmonary emergencies.
• Operates equipment properly in a reliable manner, per departmental standards, complying with all safety guidelines/policies.
• Performs related duties as required.
