About the position

CardioNow is hiring a detail oriented Cardiovascular Technologist to join the practice! You will play a pivotal role in diagnosing and treating heart and blood vessel conditions, using sophisticated imaging technologies to provide essential insights that guide patient care. You will report directly to the supervising physician. This position is estimated to start in June or July.

Responsibilities

  • Operate advanced imaging equipment to produce high-quality cardiovascular images
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, including explaining the process and ensuring patient comfort
  • Follow safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff
  • Assist physicians during invasive cardiovascular procedures such as angioplasty or catheterization
  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging reports
  • Calibrate and maintain imaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality
  • Adhere to hospital and departmental guidelines regarding imaging procedures
  • Provide emergency care and support during cardiovascular imaging procedures
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to discuss imaging results and patient care plans
  • Conduct quality control tests on imaging equipment and images
  • Keep up-to-date with advances in cardiovascular imaging technology and techniques
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during imaging procedures
  • Administer contrast agents intravenously under physician supervision
  • Evaluate images for clarity, detail, and diagnostic quality before forwarding to interpreting physicians

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field
  • Certification in Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Previous experience in a cardiovascular imaging department
  • Coronary CT required
  • PET and SPECT preferred
  • Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and pathology
  • Proficiency in advanced imaging techniques such as CT angiography or MRI
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
  • Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited radiologic technology program
  • Valid state radiologic technologist license
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow complex instructions and work independently
  • Physical stamina to handle long periods of standing and moving patients
  • Good communication skills for effectively interacting with patients and medical staff
