Reports to: Manager FLSA: Non-exempt

Requirements

  • Minimum Education Graduate of an accredited program in Allied Health Sciences (e.g. Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, Paramedicine, Licensed Practical Nurse or equivalent academic program and experience.)
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
  • Licensure or Certification in degree field within 90 days of hire
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year hire/transfer)
  • Non-Radiologic Technology and Licensed Practical Nursing requires Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist within 18 months of hire

  • 1 year related experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • Enter new data as needed.
  • Monitors heart rhythms, blood pressure, and oxygen levels.
  • Reports any changes to the appropriate person.
  • Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Assists cardiologist in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Administers medications to patients under the supervision of attending physicians.
