Requirements

• High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]
• Technical/Vocational School [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA-CST) [Required] OR
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) [Required] OR
• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) [Required]

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing technical support during the perioperative period under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assists in preparing the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
• Involves sterilizing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Supports the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Monitors and maintains the sterility of the surgical field.
• Ensures compliance with clinical standards of care and safety protocols.
• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed.
