About The Position

The Cardiovascular Services Coordinator is responsible for various tasks and projects for Specialty Physician Practices. Effective coordination of the various needs of the physicians and patients at multiple locations including but not limited to procedure and appointment scheduling, billing, data collection, quality improvement initiatives and resource utilization. Has a familiarity with medical terminology and a working knowledge of CPT and ICD 10 coding as it relates to testing and procedures in their given subspecialty. Able to effectively communicate non-clinical perioperative instructions to patients and family members, and to provide assistance with necessary paperwork. Demonstrated understanding of surgical procedures, such as the time a procedure takes, types of equipment or devices to be utilized and whether or not vendor support is required. Must demonstrate an ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, and follow through with detail orientation. Effectively represent the Specialty practices with external and internal partners. This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with some college.
  • 18-24 months' experience in a subspecialty surgery scheduler role with demonstrated subject matter expertise in the given department.
  • Ability to function in a self-directed environment and complete job assignments in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of organizational functions, policies and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or Technical College Diploma
  • Three to five years' healthcare experience
