The University of Utah is looking for a strong team player, hard worker, and an individual with a desire to help the program succeed. The University of Utah Hospital performs approximately 1000+ cardiac cases per year. We are involved in a wide variety of cardiac cases including, but not limited to: CABG , valve, LVAD , RVAD , heart and lung transplantation, Dissections, Pulmonary Thromboendarterectomy, adult congenital, etc. Perfusion also provides services related to auto-transfusion, component therapy, coagulation testing, TAVR’s and HIPEC . There is some involvement with ECMO and occasionally Intra-aortic Balloon pumps. We are affiliated with the University of Utah School of Medicine which has a rich history of providing excellent medical training and has recently provided the opportunity to teach and train upcoming perfusion students by starting a Masters level Perfusion Program. All clinical perfusionists will be part of the clinical education of these students and may also have the opportunity to teach didactically in the classroom. On-call responsibilities during the week, as well as weekends, and holidays are divided amongst the team. These duties described are generally descriptive but not all-inclusive.
