About The Position

The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Inova Fairfax Medical is hiring an experienced CVOR RN! We are seeking an RN with a minimum of 2years of experience specializing in the CVOR. Our Program is the 9th busiest heart transplant program in the country as of January 2023 and performed a total of 100 transplants (heart and lung) in our cardiac ORs in 2022. We are also in the top 2% in the country for TAVR volume. Sign on Bonus & Relocation Available. Work Schedule: Full time; Day shift (10hr shifts or 13hr shifts). Must be available to take call and rotate weekends, holidays and off-shifts. The CVOR is located on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus within the Inova Heart and Vascular Institute (IHVI) for adult cardiac surgery and Inova Women’s and Children’s Hospital for pediatric/congenital cardiac surgery. The CVORs are state of the art with Stryker integrated video and a Philips (Single Plane) Hybrid OR with a total of 7 operating rooms serving all cardiac surgery needs including thoracic organ transplant (heart and lung), mechanical circulatory support, structural heart, congenital, and advanced aortic surgery. Requirements

Requires a minimum of 2 years of direct Cardiovascular Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse
BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date
Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.
