About The Position

The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team. The department offers full-time, part-time, and PRN positions with a variety of schedules, including day, mid, and night shifts. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience specializing in the CVOR as a Registered Nurse. Sign on Bonus & Relocation bonus is available for eligible candidates. Applicants may be considered for current and future opportunities Our CVOR features state-of-the-art technology, including Stryker integrated video and a Philips single-plane Hybrid OR. This dept comprises 7 operating rooms supporting all cardiac surgery services, including thoracic organ transplantation (heart and lung), mechanical circulatory support, structural heart, congenital, and advanced aortic surgery. Requirements

• Requires a minimum of 2 years of direct Cardiovascular Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse
• BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support with American Heart Association

• AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion
• Scrub experience
• Level 1 trauma experience

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
• Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.
