Requirements

• If LPN, must have current, valid State of Florida license as a Licensed Professional Nurse.
• Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
• Completion of an RN training program will be accepted in place of certification.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care in surgery by performing technical and other delegated duties.
• Function as a member of the surgical team, providing care to surgical patients of age specific groups.
• Adhere to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable local, state and federal regulations.
• Actively participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and keep the circulating nurse informed during procedures.
• Ensure all supplies, equipment, and medications are assembled prior to procedures.
• Assist with safe and appropriate operating room turnover times.
• Supervise other healthcare team members in the surgical environment.
• Assist with orientation, training, and education of new personnel.
