About The Position

HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital is seeking a Cardiovascular Invasive Technician to join the Cath Lab in a PRN capacity. Ideal candidates will assist the physician with the performance of invasive and diagnostic/interventional cardiac, vascular, neuro and electrophysiology procedures, by monitoring, passing instruments and catheters, observing patient response to procedure, maintaining sterile field, and interpreting and evaluating diagnostic data to be utilized by the physician. They will support the education, training, quality improvement and research processes in the department and excels in a subspecialty area of expertise. This position requires the operation of equipment that produces ionizing radiation.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in radiologic technology, allied health, applied science or completion of certificate/training program.
  • 2 years of experience working in a cath lab or special procedures radiologic technologist role.
  • Cross-trained and able to rotate to perform at least three functional skill sets in any diagnostic or interventional case type.
  • Licensed Radiographer in the state of practice.
  • Certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT(R)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the physician with invasive and diagnostic/interventional procedures.
  • Monitor and pass instruments and catheters during procedures.
  • Observe patient response to procedures and maintain sterile field.
  • Interpret and evaluate diagnostic data for physician use.
  • Support education, training, quality improvement, and research processes.
